João Doria, ex-governador de São Paulo, enviou uma carta ao presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva e ao vice-presidente Geraldo Alckmin em um gesto de reconciliação. Em entrevista ao Estadão, Doria reconheceu e pediu desculpas pelos “exageros” e “injustiças” que cometeu contra Lula durante campanhas eleitorais. Esse ato não é isolado; Doria já havia feito pedidos de desculpas e elogiado Lula anteriormente.
Na mensagem, Doria reconhecia ter cometido “exageros e equívocos” com Alckmin, com quem pouco antes, em dezembro de 2023, havia se reconciliado, mas também com Lula. “Queria ter a chance de dizer que errei”, escreveu na mensagem, segundo relato de pessoas próximas ao petista.
A carta foi lida pelo presidente na hora, que reconheceu o gesto. Lula comentou já ter vivido muito para não perdoar o ex-adversário. Mas tornar-se amigo de Doria, que amigo dele nunca havia sido, já seria um pouco demais, ponderou o petista de acordo com um auxiliar.
A tentativa de aproximação com Lula fez parte de um circuito de reconciliação que Doria iniciara meses antes. Ele havia refeito a relação com Alckmin, por meio de quem se lançou na política e com quem estava rompido há tempos, numa longa conversa em sua casa. Aparou arestas ainda com outros ex-aliados, como Rodrigo Garcia, que fora seu vice no governo de São Paulo, e Bruno Araújo, ex-presidente do PSDB.
Doria também se reconciliou com Alckmin, após desentendimentos nas eleições de 2018, durante uma visita de Alckmin à sua casa. Ele afirmou que, embora tenham sido adversários eleitorais, nunca foram inimigos. Além disso, Doria mencionou que não pretende voltar à vida pública e está focado em promover o Brasil internacionalmente através do Grupo de Líderes Empresariais (Lide).
Ele elogiou o ministro da Fazenda, Fernando Haddad, destacando seu trabalho positivo na condução econômica do País. Doria afirmou estar comprometido com a pacificação do Brasil e acredita que o País não deve se dividir entre esquerda e direita.
