O governador de Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo), está prestes a formalizar seu apoio ao deputado estadual Bruno Engler (PL) no segundo turno das eleições de Belo Horizonte. Embora ainda não tenha se pronunciado oficialmente, articuladores políticos consideram natural esse endosso, já que Engler faz parte da base do governo estadual na Assembleia Legislativa.
No primeiro turno, Zema apoiou Mauro Tramonte (Republicanos) e indicou sua ex-secretária de Planejamento, Luísa Barreto (Novo), como vice na chapa, o que gerou descontentamento no PL. A avaliação interna é de que a falta de apoio a Engler agora poderia aumentar a insatisfação do partido aliado. Formalmente, os aliados de Zema ainda não comentam a situação. Essa possível declaração de apoio repete a postura de Zema nas eleições de 2022, quando ele apoiou Jair Bolsonaro (PL) no segundo turno.
O Republicanos, coligado com o Novo, enfrenta uma situação complicada. O senador Cleitinho, uma figura influente do partido, apoia Engler e pressiona por uma aliança com o bolsonarismo. Por outro lado, o Republicanos é parte da base do governo do presidente Lula (PT), que está apoiando Fuad Noman (PSD), o que torna a situação ainda mais delicada.
O ex-prefeito Alexandre Kalil, agora no Republicanos, expressou que seguirá a decisão de seu partido, embora tenha reconhecido a dificuldade de apoiar Fuad Noman devido a desavenças passadas. Kalil e Fuad, que foram aliados, se distanciaram após mudanças no secretariado e intensificação das tensões durante a campanha eleitoral.
O ministro das Relações Institucionais, Alexandre Padilha, confirmou que Lula apoiará Fuad Noman no segundo turno. No primeiro turno, Lula fez campanha remota para Rogério Correia e evitou entrar na disputa local diretamente. Agora, a decisão de apoiar Fuad é vista como natural, já que Fuad apoiou Lula nas eleições de 2022. O PT e o PDT também indicam que apoiarão Fuad no segundo turno.
Rogério Correia ainda não se pronunciou oficialmente, mas sua candidata a vice, Bella Gonçalves (PSOL), já declarou apoio a Fuad. O PDT, de Duda Salabert, também tende a seguir o mesmo caminho, consolidando a aliança.
Por outro lado, Gabriel Azevedo (MDB), que ficou em quarto lugar na corrida eleitoral e é crítico do bolsonarismo, optou pela neutralidade, afirmando que as urnas também delegam o papel da oposição.
O senador Carlos Viana (Podemos) havia sugerido na semana passada que poderia apoiar qualquer candidato que não fosse Engler, mas ainda não oficializou seu apoio ao prefeito.
