A Argentina Mercado Livre se tornou a empresa mais valiosa da América do Sul, deixando a Petrobras para trás. No segundo trimestre de 2024, o lucro líquido da companhia de venda online mais do que dobrou em relação ao ano anterior, surpreendendo os analistas. E o destaque vai para a operação brasileira. Comemorando 25 anos, essa gigante do comércio registrou um lucro líquido de US$ 531 milhões no trimestre encerrado em junho, superando as expectativas.
A empresa atingiu um valor de mercado de US$ 90 bilhões. Em 2 de agosto de 2023, o Mercado Livre registrava um valor de mercado de US$ 58,3 bilhões. Em 12 meses, a empresa ganhou US$ 31,6 bilhões em valor de mercado, e US$ 10,5 bilhões neste ano.
A Petrobras – a empresa brasileira e latino-americana mais valiosa – registra um valor de mercado de US$ 83,1 bilhões. A valorização do dólar penalizou o valor de mercado da Petrobras. O dólar já valorizou cerca de 18% em 2024. Não significa que a empresa perdeu valor, mas está sendo impactada pela valorização da moeda norte-americana.
O dólar fechou na útima sexta-feira a R$ 5,71. Para efeitos de comparação, em 31 de dezembro de 2023, a moeda estava cotada a R$ 4,84.
